One app for the whole chain of command.

Field teams already coordinate on consumer messaging apps, where nothing is retained, nothing is auditable and a task is a sentence somebody has to remember. Civiq.plus gives the same immediacy — voice, video and text — with structured messages, acknowledged announcements and retention your organisation sets.

Why it is inside the platform

The conversation and the record are the same thing

When coordination happens outside the system, the platform only ever sees the aftermath. Keeping messaging inside means a task card raised in a ward group is the same row the resolution report counts, and a briefing sent to 400 karyakartas produces evidence of who actually saw it.

  • Tasks raised in chat appear in the issue module
  • Announcements produce acknowledgements, not assumptions
  • Channels carry the geography they belong to
  • Retention and consent are the organisation's, not an app vendor's

Capabilities

What the messaging module provides

Voice, video and text together

Calls run on the same self-hosted media server as conferencing, so a chat becomes a call without moving people to another product.

Structured messages, not just text

Task cards, polls and approvals are first-class objects. A task raised in a chat is the same record the issue module reports on.

Acknowledgement, not read receipts

A priority announcement records a person, a time and a place. That is evidence a message landed; a client-side tick is not.

Bound to geography

Channels attach to a ward, mandal or constituency, so the conversation about a place is findable from the place.

Retention set per chat type

Direct messages, operations channels and broadcasts can each carry their own retention window rather than one blunt policy.

Consent recorded at joining

What members agreed to is stored on the community, and outbound messaging is bounded by it — a connector cannot widen what was granted.

Message types

More than text in a bubble

A message that carries structure can be reported on. These types exist so coordination does not have to be re-entered somewhere else to become data.

Structured message types
TypeWhat it carries
TextOrdinary conversation, in the language the team actually uses
Task cardAn assignment with an owner and a state, queryable beside the issue it refers to
PollA quick decision from a group, counted once per person
ApprovalA request that waits for a named approver before anything proceeds
AnnouncementPriority broadcast that requires acknowledgement, not just delivery
LocationA place, attached to the work rather than described in prose

Channels

The four kinds of conversation

Channel kinds
ChannelUsed for
DirectOne to one, retained under the tenant's direct-message policy
GroupA working team, usually bound to a ward, mandal or constituency
BroadcastOne to many, for announcements that need reach and receipts
OperationsThe channel a live incident or campaign runs in
